Fernando Valenzuela, 80 of Pico Rivera entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2010.
Fernando was born May 30, 1930 in El Paso, Texas to the late Alejandra (Alvarez) and Esequiel Valenzuela. While living in El Paso, Texas Fernando obtained his General Education Degree. He went on to marry his lovely wife, Catalina Torres. In 1963, Catalina and Frank moved to Los Angeles, California where they settled and raised their family. Fernando was a hardworking, motivated man. He realized the value of his education and went on to continue his journey, acquiring his Masters Degree. He became a successful, skilled Tool & Die Maker for over thirty-three years; Retiring from Northrop Grumman Corporation in 1993.
Fernando was hardworking, articulate, inspirational man who was admired by many. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and nicknames for those who surrounded him. He will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
Fernando Valenzuela is survived by his wife, Catalina Valenzuela, children, Martha, Mary, Yolanda, Maria, Alexandra, Catalina and Mike, along with his seven grandchildren and thirty one great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his children, Fernando and Bobby.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM at Guerra Gutierrez Mortuary, 5800 E. Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90022. Vigil will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 7:00PM at Guerra Gutierrez Mortuary, 5800 E. Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90022. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 13935 Telegraph Road, Whittier, CA 90640. Rite of Committal immediately following at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 S. Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601. Family Reception will immediately follow Rite of Committal at American Legion 616 W Cleveland Avenue, Montebello, CA 90640 (323) 721-4878
